Moving days. . . .

This past Wednesday to Friday the movers came.  I was nervous and excited when they came.  Only two men arrived on Wednesday.  At first I was concerned that there was only two of them. . . but they really knocked it out!  That day they focused on packing and loading the air shipment and storage shipment.  They finished all of it!  A plus side was that they were so social and being the social butterfly that I am . . .it was a perfect match.  Down side, I ordered lunch and one of the dudes only ate Paleo.  BOOO.  At least I tried.

I want to give a shot out to Mayflower Glen Ellyn (http://www.glenellynmoving.com)  for giving the man power and to Champion International Moving  (http://www.champmove.com) for organizing.

Day Thursday of moving

Holy cow. . .all I can say is that I am not destined to be a mover.  These guys really knocked it out.  The ENTIRE day they put ALL of my belongings in boxes.  ALL OF IT!!  You ask what Hubby and I did all day. . . Umm. . .we were in a corner with our electronics.

When all of one's things are packed up - this is what one resorts too!

We took the occasional walk around in the house to make it appear like we were supervising.  Truth, those men were awesome.  I took the liberty of taking photos of them and for the most part, they entertained me.

James the mover

RJ the mover

Jason the mover

Matt the mover

By the end of this day all my belongings were boxed and ready to load.  Loading was to be done the following day.

Day Friday of moving
I was informed on this day that my air shipment was already at the airport.  HOLY CRAP!  These people don't waste any time!  It is going to take 2-3 weeks to receive.  My mind cannot wrap around the efficiency of this move.

A cardboard walkway to protect my floor

This was my norm for the week

People and packing at every turn

SOOO BIG!

My last 'corner'

Our sea container

This is the reason we have insurance!
All in all, everything went smoothly.  We only had one mishap. (you see it above)  Our large 50 inch TV toppled over.  Poor James felt so sad and deflated when this happened.  According to RJ, nothing like this has happened to James in the last 7 years.  Well, leave it to my move!  Accidents happen and we praise Jesus that no one got hurt.

The month prior to this, I had to take an inventory of all things in our house.  I complained EVERY SINGLE DAY to the hubby about how torturous this was.  I would have rather stabbed myself with a spoon!  Did I really care if my kids socks come up missing?  Do I really need to inventory every electronic and item of value?  Well, kids, the answer is yes!  I am living proof of how thankful that Sharon at Champion was on me to get this done, and now my TV is covered!  Live and learn.

As for as the container: we only filled 1/4 of it.  It tells me that I can bring so much more stuff home when I return in two years!

The move is over and we are staying with Madre until we leave on Monday.
